Why does the job exist?
The IT Systems Administrator I will:
- Support the Human Services Department Infrastructure;
- Provide both physical and virtual server maintenance, monitoring, installation, configuration, and patching;
- Work on issues escalated from the Help Desk, and be involved in managing VMware, AWS, and endpoint management with Intune.
How does it get done?
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for:
- Working as a part of a team to maintain the HSD infrastructure environment, system configuration and security remediation, and VMware and cloud infrastructure, configuration and support;
- Managing an active directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy and User Permissions, as well as Endpoint management with Intune and KACE.

- HSD vendors;
- Other state Employees and New Mexico Citizens .
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has:
- Experience supporting and Troubleshooting windows operating systems ;
- Experience system Patching and Virtual Infrastructure
- The initiative to take on new projects and learn new technical skills.
Minimum Qualification
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end user support, systems administration, network administration or any related field. Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
