About the role
Muon seeks a Program Master Scheduler to join our Technical Program Management team and help run cutting-edge internal R&D and customer programs. The ideal candidate is able to develop, maintain, and communicate our highly dynamic development schedules. Our timelines are extremely aggressive, which would require the candidate to be comfortable with working on complex multidisciplinary projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the master scheduler for all internal and external programs.
- Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with responsible engineers, ensuring the plan is accurate and up to date at all times.
- Work with teams and managers to ensure that program schedules reflect reality and that projects and key deliverables will be completed on time.
- Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and present the critical path schedules and schedule narratives to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and perform schedule risk review to identify program criticality and uncertainty.
- Quickly understand Muon’s workflows and constraints for hardware and software development, testing, vehicle build and operations for both ongoing and upcoming projects
- Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, review, and report progress and potential constraints on a regular basis
- Learn our engineering, production, and launch site operations with sufficient depth such that you are able to critically evaluate them and offer process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or business discipline or 5+ years of professional work in the aerospace or high-reliability hardware industry.
- 3+ years of professional experience as an integrated master scheduler in a technical organization.
- Experience generating master schedules from complex, multi-tiered projects.
- 3+ years of professional experience utilizing schedule and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or similar.
- Track record of driving schedules for successful system deployments for multidisciplinary projects including hardware, software and operations.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
- Willing to travel to Muon headquarters in Mountain view, as necessary for project support.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience with medium to high-complexity (5000+ lines) projects.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Project, Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with summary schedule reporting and resource management tools such as Smartsheet Resources, Microsoft Timeline, Milestones Professional, OnePager Pro or equivalent.
- Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology.
- Experience performing schedule risk analysis techniques.
- Experience with resource-loaded schedules.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills including public speaking.
- Experience presenting complex schedules to executive-level audiences
- Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage many levels of program plans and schedules simultaneously.
ITAR/EAR Requirements:
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

At Muon Space salary is only part of our total compensation package. In addition to salary, Muon Space provides equity compensation as well as benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401k retirement plan, life insurance, and an employee development program.
The salary range for this role is $95K and $165K + equity in the company and will depend on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
