IT Systems Support Specialist –

Our Information Technology Team is responsible for computer services and Enterprise Help Desk in support of unmanned rocket launches from the Eastern Range (Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL) and the Western Range (Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA).

This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.

This position is not eligible for a remote telecommuting schedule. Tasks for this position must be performed on-site.

Essential Functions

  • Provide problem-solving support to computer users connected to commercial and Air Force networks in a timely manner by telephone, onsite, or remotely with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Assist in Tier 3 support in resolving commercial network and server infrastructure issues and projects
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory Objects to ensure reliability and functionality for all users
  • Direct delivery and development of instruction with practical knowledge and experience in the subject
  • Track, monitor, and document support Tier 2/3 issues in online helpdesk system
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Associate degree in computer or IT related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of two years of direct computer technical support experience in adynamic/technically challenging environment spanning multiple physical locations
  • Experience with supporting network peripherals (e.g., Printers, Copiers, VOIP Phones, etc.)
  • Experience with diagnosing, and resolving, client computer and network connection issues, as well as installation/configuration of client operating systems and various software applications
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain, within (6) months of hire date, CompTIA’s Security+ certification. Network+ highly desired

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat to resolve system issues
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

This position’s pay rate is subject to the current wage determination under the Service Contract Act. The hourly rate for this position starts at $37.99; however, RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills, and knowledge.
