A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Provides day-to-day technical support to both remote and onsite employees for network infrastructure and internal computer systems, including all software and hardware. Responsible for handling the day-to-day call volume, managing incident and request tickets/emails, as well as providing walk up support for customers. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, and network issues in a diverse environment. Supports password maintenance, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel.
- Installs, configures, tests, and troubleshoots end user workstation hardware, software, and networked peripheral devices.
- Responds to Service Desk ticketing requests and incidents to meet business SLA’s.
- Escalates unresolved problems to Sr. IT Technicians and IT management.
- Sets up and configures new employee workstations and coordinates shipping and pickup of hardware.
- Administers Active Directory and account provisioning.
- Assigns software licenses.
- Responsible for supporting in-person IT activities such as lab support, printing, audio-visual support, inventory tracking and desk moves/setups.
- Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of routine PC and network problems.
- Identifies and implements corrective hardware solutions. This may include computers, copiers, and other devices.
- Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to Desktop/Laptop computers in a Microsoft Windows/Office environment.
- Provides occasional support for Apple OSX hardware and software.
- Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, security and safety requirements.
- Create and maintain knowledge base articles accessible to IT support staff as well as the end-user population.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot network connectivity
- Ability to install and configure an array of software products.
- Technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions to technical problems to both technical and non-technical employees
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
EXTRA AWESOME:
- B.S. in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
- 1-2 years hands-on experience with PC workstations and servers in a small to medium LAN/WAN environment.
- Hands-on PC and Network hardware configuration and troubleshooting experience.
- Experienced with configuration and support of Windows operating systems.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $22.00 – $24.00 per hour. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
