This position is located in Information Technology Services, Aiken County.
Are you the One? We are looking for an IT Technician ll who will act as a tier 2 technical support for the processing center(s) in which you are assigned. Provides support and technical advice concerning office automation needs. Serves as contact for problems with automation system; follows through with solutions to problems. Transport equipment to processing center locations, assist in special projects and serve as technician in the areas as needed.
- Effectively build working relationships with area managers, area administrators and staff in supported areas to gain accountability and reliability in communicating IT related information and assuring problems are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Performs systems maintenance to Agency equipment to ensure a proper operating environment, and provide user(s) hardware, and software support. Assists users in supported area and IT Service Desk, and Network Administrators with resolving various trouble shooting issues.
- Performs any hardware, and software upgrades to Agency equipment, and installs new, and enhanced products. Assist agency management in making short-, and long-term decisions regarding information technology growth, and development.
- Maintain weekly logs of work being performed and submit these reports to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Stay abreast of new technologies that would impact knowledge and performance to supported areas as well as continually train and gain knowledge of software, equipment and functionality. Participate in training sessions to enhance job knowledge and performance.
- Participate in meetings to effectively communicate information within all areas of IT Services. Assist Networking and Administrators in process improvement, and procedure documentation.
- Performs other duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A High School Diploma and experience in information technology, electronics technology systems, or other related areas.
An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Occasional overnight travel
- Requires holder to drive routinely
- Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting requirement: 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques.
- Ability to present technical and non-technical reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with vendors, management staff and users.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
