Are you a passionate about Space? How would you like to use your data science skills to help guide US space strategy into the future? We are building a space market data science team to analyze simulations of space communications, navigation, and conflict for US Space Command and US Space Force. You will be a principal in the data science team and create robust analysis pipelines. You’ll work with our high-tech customers to understand their technology, investment, performance, resilience, and policy questions and use this insight to craft high-performance analytical pipelines for use in workstation, server, and cloud (AWS) deployment environments. We’re on a development trajectory to be able to simulate tens of thousands of space platforms in tradespace analyses of hundreds of thousands of architecture options. Responsibilities

  • Support Spectrum Warfare AC modeling and analysis efforts through operations research practices and applied simulation
  • Work closely with the Spectrum Warfare Analysis Capability (SWAC) Program Office and Force Design Integration Office to import/instantiate Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) models in simulation tools like Rapid Analysis and Prototyping Toolkit for Resiliency (RAPTR) and Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
  • Simulate joint operational scenarios, missions, and interdependencies in SWAC simulation environments
  • Integrate modeling and analysis efforts across multi-disciplinary teams within SWAC
  • Employ experimental design to orchestrate and conduct in-depth analysis on joint simulation results
  • Conduct mission-level analysis to support SWAC Force Design efforts, including Space Data Transport architecture development
  • Conduct enterprise-level analysis to feed SWAC force design prioritization
  • Translate complex technical information into products that communicate to non-subject matter experts
  • Develop and prepare correspondence and other documentation (formal letters, position papers, reports)

Qualifications

Required:

  • STEM Bachelor’s Degree (STEM Master’s Degree desired)
  • 7+ years modeling, simulation, analysis experience, ideally with an operations research background
  • 7+ years space operations or space acquisition experience, ideally focused on SATCOM (desired)
  • 5+ years Python development/scripting experience
  • 3+ years Joint Operational Planning / Joint integration experience (desired)
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering and Systems Modeling Language (desired)
  • Experience with DoD, IC, and Commercial Satellite systems in SCI/SAP environment
  • TS/SCI and Special Access eligibility required, polygraph preferred

Target salary range: $91,000 – $159,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
