ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the successful onboarding of journals moving to OUP, as well as for operationally managing the launch of new journals. The Journal Transitions Manager (JTM) applies project management techniques to ensure successful delivery, working with internal and external teams. The JTM applies these same principles to related projects and processes, including converting existing subscription journals to a fully open access model, supporting journal title changes, and offboarding or discontinuing journals that are leaving the business.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Manage operational aspects of assigned transition and launch projects, working with internal departments including Editorial, Publishing & Content Operations, Marketing, and Sales, as well as external stakeholders such as Society staff and leadership, and Editorial teams.
- Facilitate and deliver communications, both internally and externally, via regular email contact, virtual meetings, and milestone workshops.
- Monitor progress via project management software (currently JIRA), identifying and addressing variations from expectations with regard to quality and timeliness.
- Report regularly on project status to key stakeholders.
- Advocate for best practices in engaging with Society and Editorial teams, providing expertise and guidance in support of decision making.
- Ensure compliance with the NISO Transfer Code of Practice.
- Champion problem solving, working with relevant subject matter experts to identify issues and solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities, leading Lessons Learned sessions, and proactively utilizing appropriate techniques to improve process efficiency.

Salary: $46,550 – $69,825 dependent on skills and experience
