Job Summary:
Our Project Management team is currently looking for an intern for all upcoming terms!
In this role, you would be primarily responsible for providing support services to Project Managers and Journal Managers, who oversee the publishing process for a variety of print and digital products. You will also learn more about each stage of publishing and the principles of project management. Your primary duties would include:
- Assisting with journal submission technical checks, keeping journal records organized and up to date, and database management
- Processing journal production checks during bursts
- Correlating revisions from multiple reviewers; editing revisions as necessary to conform to the project style
- Confirming requested corrections have been properly implemented
- Preparing manuscript files for editing
- Creating/checking tables of contents
- Reviewing index manuscripts for completeness, style, spelling, and organization
Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat are used extensively for these tasks. Learning resources and training opportunities are readily available at GW to strengthen computing skills and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or working toward a bachelor’s degree. All disciplines are welcome, especially those that promote critical thinking.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent oral and written communication; must be able to listen, write, speak effectively and facilitate communication in a timely manner.
- Strong grammar skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to quickly identify and correct inconsistencies.
