Job Summary
This position will start and end at the Tooele Garage, works mid shift at Meadowbrook. This position is a lead position. Technician will be responsible for Items listed below.
- Respond any road calls in Tooele County in a timely manner (Maybe after shift or Before shift)
- Snow removal of Tooele facility (Mandatory Overtime before shift and after shift)
- Coordinate with other departments within UTA to complete tasks as needed
Responsible for making complex repairs on coaches, rebuilding components, training other employees in new skills, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship program as a Transit Bus Repairer (Mechanics CURRENTLY classified as Transit Bus Journeyist and Master Journeyist are eligible).
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Completed an Electrical Vehicle Safety Training Class
- Must be or be able to become snow removal trained/certified
EXPERIENCE
- Successfully pass standardized tests administered by the Authority.
- Successfully pass a mechanical and electrical aptitude tests administered by the Authority.
- Must have own tools.
- Able to pass DOT physical.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Utah Class ‘B’ CDL and passenger endorsement.
- Have no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Have no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years.
- Must be or be able to become Fork Lift Certified.
This job requires regular and predictable attendance

Shift: 3:30 am – 12:00 pm with Saturday/Sunday off, this position will start and end at the Tooele garage and works mid shift at the Meadowbrook garage.

Pay Rate: $34.36 per hour
