Arcadis is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join our growing Design Engineering Team. In this position, you will be responsible for interacting with internal and external stakeholders on civil design as well as interfacing with local jurisdictions regarding permitting and design plans. This position can work remotely or be based out of any of our U.S. offices.

Role description:
As a Junior Civil Design Engineer, you will provide design support on Industrial Infrastructure and Transit and Freight Rail projects throughout North America. Depending on the clients and projects you support, you will utilize a Design-Bid-Build or a Design-Build approach when developing design documentation.
Role accountabilities:
- Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting activities
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data necessary to develop technical design information
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software, including computer simulation models and Geographical Information System (GIS) software, and equipment to prepare engineering and design analysis and documents
- Prepare Issued for Construction plans, reports, specifications, and technical designs for civil/site and railroad projects
- Address Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design documents
- Site inspections and travel for jurisdictional review or client meetings
- Ability to travel for work periodically (up to 15% of the year) – within North America only.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Previous Experience in industrial and commercial infrastructural design and construction.
- Previous Experience in Permitting and AHJ Plans Examination.
- Proficiency with these Project Management and Document Management Platforms:
- PlanGrid, Procore
- Proficiency or Experience in Design & Engineering Software Applications:
- UNIFI, SpecLINK, e-SPEC
- Proficiency or Experience with these Microsoft Office Suite Software Applications:
- MS Project, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint
- Proficiency or Experience with these Project Management and Document Management Platforms:
- BIM360 or AutoDesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise
- Proficiency or Experience in these Design & Engineering Software Applications:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D, Adobe Acrobat, REVIT
- Proficiency with these Microsoft Office Suite Software Applications:
- MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word
- Knowledge of AREMA Manual and various agency standards
- Ability/Experience in design detailing
- LEED AP or BREEAM Certified.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Experience:
- EIT License
- Natural or Acquired U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; ability to communicate effectively as part of a team and prepare/develop technical documents.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. This position is eligible for participating in a company bonus program. The salary range for this position is $52,000 – $89,700.
