Job Summary

You are a recent graduate with a passion for design and a willingness to learn. As a Junior Designer, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed drawings, specifying selections, drawing engaging concepts, communicating and documenting design details, and maintaining knowledge of standards, code, and products. Reporting to the Senior Designer, you’ll work closely with the Lamont Team to ensure project goals and timelines are met. Expect to be an integral part of the design team on projects big and small. This will be a full-time, in-person role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Asbuilt Meetings and accurately measure existing space to be remodeled and any/all surroundings that will affect the design
  • Create detailed construction drawings that include site plans, demolition sheets, finishes, MEP, structural, exterior and interior elevations
  • Specify finishes that take into account the client’s needs and budget
  • Draw engaging conceptual drawings that solve the client’s needs within the identified budget for the project
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met
  • Understand and design with current building code regulations and requirements
  • Understand the installation and specification requirements of each product and design with those in mind

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Chief Architect Premier
  • Strong drawing and modeling skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and products
  • A willingness to learn and take on new challenges

Note: Candidates with a strong portfolio of design work are preferred, but recent graduates with no prior experience are welcome to apply.
