The Opportunity:
A San Francisco based investment firm is seeking intellectually curious and self-motivated junior analyst candidates to provide support in the investment process, working with senior analysts and the portfolio manager. Start date is flexible.
About Us:
Valiant Capital Management, L.P. manages a long/short equity generalist fund, investing in all sectors globally. Our investment philosophy is centered on buying great businesses run by excellent managers at reasonable valuations, and we do not trade often, focusing instead on performing rigorous, bottom-up analysis and research on the companies and industries in which we invest. To date, we have had a bias toward international markets where we believe we are able to find compelling investment opportunities with large addressable markets and where we also believe our research process yields the most differentiated results.
Candidates Will:
- Receive training in company diligence, financial modeling, valuation and competitive industry analysis will be provided through a formal internal program
- Collaborate with the senior investment team on identification and due diligence of investment ideas across industries and the capital structure.
- Eventually, be deeply involved in all aspects of the investment process, including detailed modeling, industry research, management meetings, customer and competitor interviews, working with industry consultants, etc. Our goal is for this analyst to eventually identify industry trends and step-changes in technology
- The analyst’s level of responsibility will only be constrained by their ability.
Candidate Should:
- Be interested in learning about businesses and why some companies are successful while others are not
- Have a great attitude and a strong work ethic and be intellectually curious
- Possess strong problem solving skills
- Have strong financial modeling (DCF, three statement models, comparable company analysis) and accounting skills
- Be entrepreneurial, with an ability to develop and undertake creative research projects
- Not be afraid of cold calling and generally be resourceful in doing what it takes to solve a problem

The pay range for this role is $80,000 to $120,000.
