ABOUT THE JOB
The Junior IT Specialist role will focus on being the first level support for our internal employees. This position will primarily involve responding to employee support tickets, providing first level support, and other tasks administered by our internal IT support team. This person is expected to work well in a small team and willing to share responsibilities with other team members as needed. They will interact with internal staff and managers to ensure efficient, effective, and positive customer support is provided. They will train with and shadow other levels of the IT support team to provide back up support for deskside support items including setting up workstations and troubleshooting on-site equipment. Travel is required to local offices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be available to provide first level support and service to our customers.
- Provide efficient, effective, and positive customer support including incident troubleshooting and request fulfillment.
- Provide telephone, in-person and remote online support to employees.
- Upon ticket submission, provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users within ticketing system (ServiceNow).
- Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
- Assist in hardware and software setup for new-hires and existing employees (imaging laptops, configuration of desktop monitors/keyboards/etc.).
- Flexibility to address items outside normal business hours.
- Participate in 24X7 rotating on-call schedule.
- Assist internal IT team with other tasks as necessary.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Formal Education and Certification
- Associates Degree or actively pursuing a BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.
RequiredKnowledge and Experience
- 1+ years of experience in the IT Support Field with basic level knowledge and experience in the following:
- End user support (Incident Management and Request Fulfillment)
- Deskside support
- Office 365
- Microsoft Windows 10
- Active Directory
- Multimedia/AV experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- ServiceNow ITSM experience
- Microsoft Windows 10, Active Directory
- Security software (Intrusion Prevention/Detection, Application Control, Anti-Virus).
- MacOS use and troubleshooting.
- Any of the following certifications are a plus, but not required: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, HDI Certifications, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CompTIA Security
