H/L is looking for a Junior Media Analyst to join our Media team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who genuinely enjoys deciphering numbers and problem solving. The Junior Media Analyst will acquire, clean, and structure data from multiple sources, including Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook, ad servers, and internal databases, and analyze data to discover and interpret trends, patterns, and relationships. The Junior Media Analyst will monitor active campaigns and evaluate our marketing performance and identify opportunities. Working across media analytics and account service teams, the analyst will help us ensure quality in our data and present the data in a way that makes it easy to communicate among different groups. This position is based in Oakland, California. Hybrid work will be considered in the SanFranciscoBay Area.
What you’ll do:
- Independently gather and analyze data to support client reporting & media analytics
- Develop dashboards in Tableau, and present findings to clients and other stakeholders
- Assist in tagging and other analytics/operations processes
- Cleaning data for analysis
- Present findings in a synthesized manner with highly organized data to support findings
- Partner with Media Planners to measure outcomes from tests and provide recommendations for improvement
- Keep up to date on marketing best practices and trends affecting the analytics and digital marketing space
About you:
- You have 1-2 years of experience in Tableau or other similar data visualization tools
- You have 1-2 years of marketing or agency experience across a variety of channels
- You have a passion for data and finding unique truths hidden in a sea of numbers
- You have a thirst for continual learning in marketing and data visualization
- You’re a strong multi-tasker who can prioritize and manage several projects concurrently
- You’re meticulous with an eye for accuracy
- You possess strong logical thinking skills
- You think creatively in order to envision relationships between data
- You’re a critical and analytical thinker who excels in both independent and collaborative work
- You’re a skilled problem solver who takes pride in self-reliant troubleshooting
- You have a genuine desire to learn measurement, KPIs, and the relationship of data to marketing

- You are familiar with databases and basic programming, or willing to learn

For SF Bay Area / CA based: H/L offers projected salary range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s qualifications, budget availability within the department, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $67,000 – $86,000 per year.
