The Washington County Juvenile Department is seeking a full-time Juvenile Services Supervisor to work within the Court Specialists, Assessment and Victim Services team. This team works within the Main Juvenile Department Building located in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Juvenile Services Supervisor will provide leadership in the day to day operations of each of these three teams ensuring divisional goals and objectives are met. This is a full-time, in person, 40-hour per week position, working during normal business hours Monday through Friday.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Juvenile Department’s Court Specialists, Assessment and Victim Services Supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting staff in the day to day operations of each of the three work units. They will provide leadership in the areas of caseload assignment, reaching unit goals, conducting staff evaluations and implementing procedure and policy matters. This position must be able to show proficiency in each teams duties after completion of training in order provide assistance within each of the teams primary responsibilities to ensure duties are completed each day. Team responsibilities are outlined below:
The Court Specialist Team obtain charging decisions, file petitions, initiate attorney appointments, and set hearings. They inform juveniles and families about the court process, legal rights, and possible outcomes. They conduct predisposition investigations, determine risk level via JCP screens, and prepare history and background reports that include evaluations and dispositional recommendations. Court Specialist are also responsible for notifying the parties of hearings and serving summons.
The Assessment Team make determinations based on JCP risk score, assessments and collateral information if cases should be handled without the involvement of the official court system. They supervise low level-high level referrals through a variety services ranging from assigning informal sanctions that do not involve the court system. Services may include, Letters of responsibility, Peer Court Assignment, Community Service or Diversion to community partners and/or programs. Members of this team also provides back-up coverage to other teams where needed. Members may be required to do initial filings with the courts and complete preliminary hearings.
The Victim Services Team provides information, support and resources to victims of juvenile crime in a compassionate, responsive manner in order to promote a meaningful role for victims throughout the juvenile justice process. The Victim Services Program strives to adhere to a Balanced and Restorative Justice response to juvenile crime which is rooted in the following principles: Community Safety, Accountability, Competency Development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in counseling, social work, corrections, psychology, or a related field; AND three (3) years of experience in social work, juvenile, or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, corrections, psychology, or a related field; AND five (5) years of experience in social work, juvenile, or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
- Associate’s Degree in counseling, social work, corrections, psychology, or a related field; AND seven (7) years of experience in social work, juvenile, or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities; OR
- Nine (9) years of experience in social work, juvenile, or conciliation counseling. Experience must include caseload management and one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience over staff or project-based activities.
Additional Licenses, Certificates, Physical Abilities and Specialty Requirements:
- Must possess a driver’s license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record.
- Completion of a criminal history check in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules.
- Clinical social work or counseling license preferred.
