Job Responsibilities
Job Summary
This role will contribute significantly to Lam’s Quality performance and culture by designing, organizing, and facilitating kaizen/continuous improvement events across the organization.
Core responsibilities include:
- Identifying opportunities within the value streams to help drive improvements that tie into overall Lam Research company objectives and goals
- Performing or improving existing value stream/process mapping process to identify Value Add (VA) and Non-Value Add (NVA) activities
- Work across all levels of the organization to systematically identify and eliminate waste/generate cost savings or cost avoidances
- Ownership of kaizen/continuous improvement events, including research and selection of topics, negotiating resources, forming the team, facilitating the activity, documenting, and report out of results and reflections.
- Partner with other GQ staff to develop and deliver Kaizen training to the general workforce
- Schedule, track, and report status of kaizen event activities to a diverse audience
- Be an Agent of Change for the organization and a Champion for Lam’s Quality culture

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Kaizen leadership experience in a manufacturing, military, or technology environment
- Minimum of 12 years of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions
- Demonstrated success in using structured problem-solving methodologies and quality tools to solve complex problems
- Proven ability to implement change that is sustainable and maintains long-term success after the initial kaizen event is completed
- Proven ability to facilitate change across functions and business units
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work with a diverse workforce
- Ability to design and maintain reporting structures for activities
- Must be able to influence in a fast-paced, cross-functional, matrixed organization
- Excellent planning and time management skills; must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment; flexibility is critical
- Creative thinking and willingness to adapt best practices via use of benchmarking
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical field is preferred but not required, will consider 10+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Project Management certification is required (PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum Master)and demonstrable PM experience is preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is required, Black Belt preferred
- Proficiency in data collection and statistical analysis is required
- Advanced expertise in structured problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, DMAIC, 8D) and quality tools is required
- ISO 9001 auditor or participant experience is preferred
- Experience with determining and tracking Key Performance Indicators, such as Cost of Quality/Cost of Nonconformance, is preferred
- Customer service/customer facing experience is a plus
Salary and Benefits
CA San Francisco Bay Area – Salary Range for this position: $132,000- $285,000.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
