Description
Kinship Permanency Resource and Support Navigator
The Kinship Permanency Resource Support Navigator (KPRSN) helps people within the kinship care community find the necessary support(s) to ensure placement stability and permanency for kinship youths placed by the department. Such resources can include but are not limited to personal matters of the kinship caregiver, such as employment, housing/rental payment assistance, or other needed resources. Additionally, the KPRSN will serve as the liaison between the department, community providers, and the kinship caregiver in moving cases to permanency for the kinship youth. This position requires a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities those within kinship care settings face. This role also requires extensive knowledge of local resources designed to assist members of the kinship triad with much-needed support by providing information to the department case manager regarding services needed and requested by the triad. The KPRSN must be compassionate and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Opportunities to develop support groups and other community supports that benefit the kinship triad will also be responsible for the KPRSN.
Educational Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a Human Service-related area is preferred.
Work Experience Requirements
Must have at least three years of direct experience with children and families in a job-related or volunteer capacity.

Qualifications
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrated compliance with agency and regulatory mandates; the ability to work with persons from various ethnic backgrounds, with particular emphasis on working with families of African American heritage; ability to navigate and input data into ASCI’s Extended Reach database management system; proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook; and an employment history that supports the ability to carry increased responsibilities.
- Benchmarks-The candidate’s outcomes percentage must be 80% or higher in all areas.
- The candidate must possess a proficient knowledge of the New Hampshire Department Regulations for Kinship Care.
- The candidate must demonstrate through their actions a team-player philosophy.

Responsibilities
The KPRSN may work with the entire kinship triad to support the family in moving the young person to reunification or other permanency options in 12 months. The goal is to ensure the kinship triad members have what they need as they move through the licensing and permanency processes. The KPRSN will serve as a liaison between the kinship caregiver and the department to assist with the planning, placement stability, and identifying resources for the family. In this role, you can help them find housing, direct them to medical services or help them transition into the workplace, etc. Additionally, for the youth in the kinship care setting, the KPRSN will assist the caregiver in identifying resources and supportive services necessary for the child to experience positive well-being. You may participate in staff meetings, plan new programs, and build relationships with community members to increase community services for the kinship triad.
This position provides a full range of emergency/temporary kinship care services to the kinship triad (i.e., parents, birth parents, and children). This includes training, crisis intervention services, and coordination of community supports. The KPRSN is also responsible for assisting, as needed, the Program Supervisors with administrative oversight. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with birth parents, caregivers, children, youth, and community groups to explore their needs and abilities and to agree on solutions.
