Job Description
Learn and Grow as an Intern at KIPP St. Louis
KIPP St. Louis is seeking interns dedicated to education reform and to preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. Our internships are offered during the late spring and through the summer. Interns will work with their internship manager to determine specific hours and schedule.
Qualifications
Special Projects Assistant
Summer/ 10-20 hours a week/ Paid Hourly
Open to All Majors / In person work environment
- The summer intern will provide project support to the Executive Director and Chief of Staff in the areas of Strategic Planning, organizational efficiency, the creation of systems and structures and will support with special initiatives.
- Review and provide feedback on KIPP St. Louis’s Annual Plan and develop an accountability scorecard
- Develop annual calendar of events and draft communication to staff
- Support in the planning of Regional Team and Senior Leadership retreats
- Assist with 23-24 school year project management
- Other duties as assigned
Academic Support Assistant
Summer/ 20-30 hours a week/ Paid Hourly
Open to All Majors / Hybrid work environment
- The summer intern will provide project support to the Director of Academics to support material creation, editing of documents, and reviewing survey data to roll up trend analysis.
- Review and provide feedback on KIPP St. Louis academic documents to support clarity and alignment
- Assist with 23 -24 school year academic project management
- Develop an annual calendar of assessment dates and important academic deadlines
- Support in the planning of Professional Development by editing materials
- Other duties as assigned
School Operations Intern
Summer/ 20 hours a week/ Paid Hourly
Open to all majors / In person at school campuses
Assist the school operations team with prepping the buildings to re-open which can include:
- Prepping physical spaces
- Creating student files
- Auditing and inventorying technology.
- Parent Phone Calls
Student Services
Summer / 5-20 hours a week / Paid Hourly
Desired Majors: Education, Social Work, Counseling
These interns will request records for students transferring into KIPP for the 23-24 school year.
- Upload documents to a database
- Prepare file folders with the incoming information.
- Speak with families and schools to maintain continuity of services including following up on IEP and 504 documentation
Student Recruitment- Street Team
Summer 20-25 hrs/week / Paid Hourly
- Recruit new students to attend KIPP over the course of 6 weeks
- Brokerage 10-20 new community partners for KIPP (ex: daycares, churches, health centers,resource centers)
- 5-15 hours per week canvassing or at recruitment events
- Call at least 50 leads per week to drive new applications (cold and warm calls)
- Lead 2-4 KIPP alumni who are on the KIPP “street team” that complete canvassing and events
- Create and implement a summer recruitment calendar

Compensation
$15 per hour – undergraduates
$20 per hour – grad students, professionals
$20 per hour- Student Recruitment
