Reports to: Food Service Director & Kitchen Lead

Position Goal:

Prepare and serve nutritious and attractive meals for consumption in the school cafeteria by performing the following duties

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Food Preparation
  2. Food Serving
  3. Stocking
  4. Cleaning
  5. Ability to work well with co-workers, staff, parents and children.
  6. Ability to multitask.
  7. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job duty
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Positive attitude.
  2. Heavy lifting required (over 25#).
  3. Simple math conversion skills.
  4. Basic computer and clerical skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
  6. High School Diploma preferred
  7. Prior experience in working with food service preferred
  8. Must be self-directed and be highly motivated.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to walk, stand and reach with hands and arms; lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; very good depth perception; and the ability to communicate through speech. Auditory ability to carry on conversations and project voice in a noisy outdoor or large indoor room environment. The position requires a moderate amount of physical activity.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside in all types of weather and occasionally meets deadlines with severe time constraints.

Terms of Employment: 180 days. Monday-Friday. 6:00 am – 1:30 pm. This position generally follows the TRCS Academic Calendar. This position has non-working days during winter, spring and summer breaks as well as designated holidays. Salary, terms and other conditions of employment established by the Board of Education.
