About Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today’s and tomorrow’s power grid!
We are looking for a Knowledge Base Steward. This position will report into the Wendell office but can be remote.
Overview
As a KB Steward, you will be responsible for managing and curating our knowledge base, systems and engineering tools for the designated product line, ensuring that they remain up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessible to all stakeholders. Headquartered in Wendell, NC, the EA KB team interfaces with a diverse portfolio of products; including the SIEBREAK Metal-Enclosed Switchgear, GM-SG Metal-Clad Switchgear, and SIMOVAC Medium Voltage Controller product lines. As an internal-facing team, we keep customer satisfaction at the forefront as we maintain the tools that enable innovation and drive productivity within the EA Engineering team.
Primary responsibilities:
- Actively engage the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and R&D (Research & Development) Teams during the stages of new product introduction in order to anticipate the tools and systems-related needs of the operational teams in the BU.
- Maintain and support SAP Variant Configurator rules engine used behind our configuration tools (NX Tools) for mechanical parts for designated product line. Maintain and enhance Cost + rules utilized during our quotation stage to provide more accurate quotes during offer stage.
- Review and track trends of commonly added or deleted parts and update configurator accordingly to increase configurator accuracy and ultimately increase efficiency/quality of the Engineering Teams.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across the Mechanical Engineering teams to gather, validate, and document information.
- Create and enforce guidelines and best practices for knowledge base contributors.
- Train and support team members on how to effectively utilize the knowledge base.
- Conduct periodic audits of the knowledge base to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) solutions (SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with content management systems and databases.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask, managing large workloads and business demands.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills working with many different teams.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done with high quality and in a professional manner.
- An ideal candidate is detailed orientated and able to embrace a culture of quality.
- Less than 5% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience developing and maintaining tools to improve efficiency, quality, and cost position of an organization.
- Proficiency in using knowledge management software and tools.
- Experience in AutoCad or Engineering Base by Aucotec.
- Experience in design and development of Medium Voltage Switchgear and/or Low Voltage Motor Controllers.
- Experience with cloud-based CRM (Customer Relationship Management) solutions (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).

- The pay range for this position is $65,500 – $112,400. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
