What you will do (day in the life):
In this role, you will be a System Security Engineer responsible for lab security and day to day security posture. You will support the effort of submitting necessary EMASS paper work and plans for the hardware and software upgrades to all GMD elements supporting Early Integration Lab operations. You will be positioned to support the customer and security efforts in different lab environments.
Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a Mid-Level System Security Engineer to join the Early Integration Lab development team on our Systems Integration and Test Readiness program.
Work Location: Huntsville, AL
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed work location
A Mid-level System Security Engineer on this team will:
- Support development, delivery and maintenance of required eMASS documentation
- Support ATC and/or ATO process
- Support coordination and generation of plans and POA&Ms related to obtaining ATC and/or ATO
- Support coordination of all Security Relevant Changes to both hardware, software for all associated lab components and network
- Audit computers and track vulnerabilities through Security best practices under RMF rules of operations
- Implement and track hardware and software baselines
- Work effectively in a rapid paced team environment
Requirements
- Expert computing knowledge of all of the following: Networking (Cisco), Linux, Solaris, Microsoft,
- Previous System Administration Experience
- CISSP, Linux + certifications
- National Industrial Security Program (NISP) knowledge
- DoD Manual 5200.01, DoD Information Security Program and 55220 (NISPOM knowledge)
- DoDI 8510.01 , Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Systems , details policies and procedures for implementing the RMF
- Extensive cybersecurity risk management framework for DoD systems, referred to as “the RMF,” is required for all acquisitions containing IT
- Knowledge of GMD System Components, Ground Maintenance Monitor/Launch Management System, In-flight Data Terminal, Ground Midcourse Defense Simulator, Ground Fire Control Communication Network, Ground Fire Control.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. ( An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.)
This position requires clearing a background check and an enhanced Personal Conflict of Interest (PCI) requirements as a condition for employment.
Desired Experience:
- GMD program experience
- System of Systems Integration experience
- Knowledge of the Linux OS
- Knowledge of network programming and protocols (TCP/UDP)
- Knowledge of Security EMASS development process and previous account access
- Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
Required Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Range:
$120,750 – $185,150
