Partners with organization leaders and human resource managers to formulate effective
labor relations strategies; participates in labor negotiations and advocates on behalf
of the leadership at all levels. Assists with contract administration and grievance processing,
and represents management in labor arbitrations and other administrative matters
involving collective bargaining and labor relations. Makes recommendations and facilitates
work process improvements in order to improve efficiency and enhance services.

Job Responsibility

  • 1.Prepares Labor reports as required by the collective bargaining agreement(s), requiring interpretation and independent decisions to analyze and summarize data and trends.
    2.Acts as a liaison between union officials, employees, and leadership, coordinating and facilitating the groups as needed.
    3.With general guidance, responsible for researching, compiling, and preparing data for use in arbitration and grievance meetings, business partner initiatives and collective bargaining negotiations.
    4.Exercises independent judgement to compile data for union pension, health care and other miscellaneous audits, determining appropriate actions and approaches.
    5.Applies subject matter expertise to manage and oversee both hard copy and digital library of collective bargaining agreements, Memorandums of Agreements, arbitration decisions.
    6.Liaises with other partners including Legal, Operations, Business Innovation as well as central and field HRBPs and location business leaders.
    7.Follows established guidelines to manage other transactional Labor related activities such as contract administration and grievance processing as needed.
    8.Regularly applies knowledge of the specific field, operating under general guidance to complete various work assignments that require interpretation and decisions on course of action.
    9.Decisions may be guided by precedent, previous experience, and known professional Labor guidelines and compliance requirements.
    10.Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted here are

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in labor relations, human resources management, industrial/organizational psychology, highly preferred.
  • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in labor relations or human resources in a multi-union environment, highly preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-paced complex environment, highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification, highly preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of National Labor Relations Act (or PERB) and relevant employment law, highly preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an attention to detail and follow up, highly preferred.
  • Strong presentation skills, highly preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, which include, outlook, excel, powerpoint, word, and teams, highly preferred.
  • Ability to aggregate and analyze data to provide recommendations, highly preferred.
