Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us The Asset Manager is a role within the Research & Development Strategy & Planning (RDSP) organization, reporting to the Director of Integrated Lab Capital Asset Management (ILCAM). The role’s primary responsibility is to manage the redeployment, sale, and disposal of unwanted laboratory equipment. The goal of the program is to maximize redeployment opportunities across the BMS network for equipment that is still of value to the company and ensure that all other equipment is sold or disposed of in alignment with BMS Sustainability Goals for the environment, customs regulations and regulatory requirements such as EHS or DEA requirements. The role also includes managing a 3rd party vendor that oversees the warehousing and sale of lab equipment that is no longer useful to BMS. The role will also oversee data flow through the equipment move/change request system, including ensuring that requests are completed and closed out in the system. The position will be responsible for partnering with team members so that data updates to SAP and a 3rd party vendor’s asset management system. This includes working with team members to drive continuous improvement to the process. Lastly, within the data management space, the candidate will oversee the Disposal of Asset Requests for lab equipment in the US. The maintenance of the ILCAM SharePoint site falls into the responsibility of the Asset Disposition role. This includes reviewing the layout and content of the area with team members and partnering with IT to update and make enhancements, review of user access, and ensuring links are active for customers. The successful candidate will need to develop very strong working relationships and the ability to partner & influence members of the Laboratory Equipment Maintenance team, the Leader of the Capital Resource Acquisition team, the scientific equipment community, Global Procurement, Finance, and other business functions to develop and align on strategic initiatives that drive the optimization of the BMS equipment fleet. Key Duties and Responsibilities Maximize the opportunities to redeploy, sell, and dispose of equipment following financial, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Manage the 3rd party vendor that oversees storage and sales of used lab equipment. Participate in vendor selection. Ensure data flow through the equipment change and delete process system. Responsible for ensuring Disposal of Asset requests are submitted to Global Fixed Assets for processing. Provide continuous improvement oversight to the data flow process. Maintain the team’s SharePoint site. Engage and partner with team members and internal/external stakeholders to enable consistent delivery of results. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required Strong knowledge of Excel. Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint Strong ability to partner with team members Ability to influence without authority General knowledge of laboratory equipment Database knowledge preferred Education and Experience BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline 4+ years of lab or project management experience The starting compensation for this job a range from $87,000.00 – $123,000.00, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).
