SCOPE OF POSITION:
The LAN Administrator will be responsible for providing network administration and technical support for the entire operation, including desktop inventory and parts maintenance and providing the stable operation of the IT computer network. The LAN Administrator will be responsible for network and application access as well as auditing all permissions on a scheduled basis. The LAN Administrator will assist in evaluating and installing equipment and hardware as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.
- Adds and trains new users to Information Technology (IT) Active Directory and email.
- Performs full permissions audits across all systems on a monthly basis.
- Troubleshoots and resolves IT Users systems connectivity issues.
- Maintains IT, PC and network hardware parts inventories.
- Maintains all software licensing product inventories.
- Performs and maintains data backup operations for IT servers; monitors tape job logs.
- Communicates status of issues, tasks and projects to management verbally and in writing as required.
- Creates, communicates, maintains, and monitors project, implementation, or trouble-shooting task lists and plans; as well as other written documentation.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of all applications.
- Ensures a superior level of user service and satisfaction is achieved and maintained throughout the company.
- Enforces standards of security, system integrity and confidentiality within the department.
- Assists in testing and making purchase decisions for hardware, software and network technologies.
- Routinely inspects all supported equipment on property, identifying potential problems and coordinating necessary repairs.
- Coordinates the troubleshooting and repair of all supported equipment on property.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of file servers and network operating systems.
- Creates and documents technical procedures for the Information Technology Department.
- Held accountable for the quality and integrity of IT systems on property.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.
- Outstanding example of and a credit to FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indirectly supervises all systems users on the property.
Minimum Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant’s education, training and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Two years combination of technical degree or certification and computer related support with system such as Active Directory and SCCM. Must be proficient with Active Directory best practices and processes and have a superior understanding of permissions structures. Must be able to pass a LAN Administrator aptitude test. Must be at least 21 years of age.
GENERAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences or Business Administration from a four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training. Two years’ experience working with, and supporting network operating systems in a casino environment. Technical certifications such as MCITP.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematical such as probability and statistical inference.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
