Job Description

A landscaping foreman is responsible for supporting the Sr. Project Manager of all daily job site activities necessary to provide our clients with a product that satisfies contractual agreements in a timely, cost-effective, and courteous manner, as well as ensuring a strong customer relationship. You will provide supervision of project installations and a crew of 1-3 crew members. You may be handling multiple projects in a timely fashion. You will be training new hires in their responsibilities. You will be able to delegate job responsibilities. You must be able to read Landscape CAD designs which may include a combination of concrete, masonry, and construction installation. You will be working independently. You must have pride in work and superior attention to detail. You will be representing Bioscapes and are the company’s second line of responsibility to the homeowners’ needs and concerns. You will need to communicate daily with Sr. Project Manager, subcontractors, front office, and sometimes with homeowners. You should be able to communicate with people effectively. This is a fast-paced work environment. Manual labor may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Loading tools & materials to start the workday. Opening and closing job sites-open the residence and prepare for work each morning and lock up at the end of the day.
  • Fill out Daily logs-recording labor activities, accidents, delays, and communicating that to the front office and Sr. Project Manager.
  • Assist with the scheduling of crews to complete production requirements. The Scheduling of crews will be coordinated with the Sr. Project manager.
  • Keep Sr. Project Manager and front office informed of all and any scheduled-related issues. Make sure that any requested changes to the scope of work by the client be related to the front office.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations of Bioscapes
  • Review Bioscapes Scope of project per job site to ensure it meets contract requirements.
  • Install concrete, masonry, and, landscape construction designs.
  • Follow up on material orders with suppliers from pre-issued purchase orders.
  • Assist Sr. Project Manager and subcontractors with field issues or coordination issues.
  • Pick up needed materials and deliver them to job sites. The foreman maybe issued a company credit card. This card is to be used for approved company purchases only. Each time the card is used, a receipt of that purchase is to be saved and delivered to the Sr. Project manager.
  • Keep job site clean, organized, safe, and stocked with consumable construction materials.
  • May need to drive company truck & trailer if needed.
  • Assist in the installation of landscape/welding/concrete/masonry/carpentry/construction projects at an intermediate or to advanced level.
  • Materials management on each job site is essential to this position. The Foreman will make sure that the project has all materials needed if not a comprehensive list of what is needed should be made for order and pick up. Keeping materials secure & protected from the weather is part of material management. Nails and hardware should be stored in an assigned location and any materials that can be damaged by the weather should be covered with plastic tarps or put indoors or undercover If possible. When materials are delivered to a job site the Forman will reconcile the order and confirm that materials are not damaged. Damaged materials will be sent back to the supplier to be replaced with acceptable materials.
  • Daily walk-through of each job to inspect the previous day’s work was done and done correctly.
  • Performs “job autopsies” after each project completion with Bioscapes by providing useful suggestions made for future projects.

Pay is $22-28 an hr depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • High-School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas Drivers license
  • Clean driving record and background with good references required
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • 3+yrs of landscape installation and construction experience in landscape installations which includes but is not limited to concrete and masonry projects.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation or repair of landscapes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate information and ideas.
  • Self-starter with the ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Professional attire, attitude, and behavior are required.

Working Conditions

Driving to various job sites and physically moving around job sites in all phases of construction is a daily occurrence.

This position requires physical abilities such as strength, manual dexterity, and must be able to perform all required functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the landscape crew member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, crouch, reach, stoop, crawl or kneel. Lift up to 50 pounds. The position is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme hot and cold conditions. Additional working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, and dirty/wet worksites. This position may be occasionally required to work on weekends. Due to the seasonal nature of work, some peak load situations may arise.
