JOB DESCRIPTION: CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE
This exempt supervisory job classification is responsible for overseeing branch construction projects and managing the project efficiently to ensure it meets desired revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction goals, performs other work as required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Full responsibility for multiple construction jobs by managing labor, materials, time, and customer expectations efficiently;
- plans, coordinates, and oversees on-site activities;
- maintains construction job schedules and budgets,
- ensures efficient coordination of crews, subcontractors, and other trades. material procurement and management:
- holds staff accountable for safety, efficiency, and quality control,
- analyzes blueprints, specifications, details, and/or scope of work to determine material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor requirements,
- computes itemized cost factors used for management purposes such as budgeting, purchasing, planning, and scheduling work;
- prepares “take-off reports by counting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- assures product quality;
- participates in preconstruction planning regarding project schedules and budgets;
- determines cost effectiveness;
- attends weekly safety tailgate meetings;
- offers recommendations to improve cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs,
- manages multiple crews according to company procedures, goals, and values;
- holds Foremen accountable for project schedule, project hours, material orders and delivery and client updates and coordination, equipment repair, and maintenance,
- completes and maintains all required reports and forms,
- conducts regular job site inspections,
- reviews requisitions.
- ensures all work and materials comply with specifications, timelines, and profit margins;
- manages subcontractors (e.g , scope of work, schedule, progress).
- designs installation plans for crews,
- works with the sales/design team to ensure quality and accurate production rates
- solves technical issues on as-built projects,
- supervises, interviews, hires, trains, disciplines, evaluates, motivates, and recognizes subordinate employees,
- operates various types of equipment (e g , skiploaders, skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, tillers, trucks, trailers),
- informs General Superintendent of the project schedule (e.g., status, budgeted hours, problems) on daily and weekly basis,
- ensures key performance indicators (e g., gross profit, project budgets) are reported on time and to company standards,
- provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and company staff in a courteous and efficient manner

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position includes at least four (4) years of commercial construction, landscaping, and/or hardscape experience similar to that described above

Working Conditions Work is predominately outdoors. exposed to varying temperatures. weather conditions, and noise levels, exposure to dust, pesticides, herbicides, grease, oils, dust, fumes, and electrical currents
