Our medical devices manufacturing client is looking for a Laser Manufacturing Engineer to join the team in Berlin, CT and support the customer manufacturing processes! You will need to have experience in programming, setting up, and operating various laser equipment for welding, marking, and cutting. You will be responsible for developing and performing installation, operational, and process qualifications, coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams, and revising programs to improve efficiency and meet customer specifications. You will also be involved in designing fixtures, incorporating inspection and test requirements, and identifying and supporting business growth opportunities. You may also have direct-reporting responsibilities for site engineering personnel depending on the geographic organizational structure.
Required Skills & Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in laser manufacturing, preferably in the medical device or other regulated industryA proven track record of programming, setting up, and operating various laser equipment for welding, marking, and cutting
* A strong knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA QSR, and other relevant regulations and standards
A proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, CAD/CAM software, and statistical analysis tools
A strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Ability to read drawings and specifications containing GD&T.
Experience with continuous improvement (Kaizen events)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
