Safran Cabin Materials located in Newport, WA is recruiting for:
Lay Up & Press Operator Lead – Weekday PM Shift
4:00pm to 4:00am Monday/Tuesday to Thursday (alternates each week)
This Lead job is responsible for leading the Panel department crew to produce composite flat panels per the required specifications and per the production schedule.
Must follow the steps outlined on the production work order to produce each product. Each step of the word order must be completed and in-process quality checks must be performed. This position reports to the Panels Production Supervisor.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Lead must be familiar with and possess ability to operate all equipment in the Panels Department.
Prioritizing and managing the production schedule to ensure the shift meets the requirements for the day.
Direct operators to the tasks that need to be performed during their production shift.
Work orders are completed correctly, legibly, and on time.
Document traceability of products used in the process.
Lead problem solving and operational improvement activities for the shift.
Ensure the team follows all company policies and procedures.
Cross-train in various departments in order to meet our customer demand.
Perform production duties with the team as needed.
Perform transactions in the ERP system.
Coordinate training for employees.
Cross train or transfer to other departments as needed.
Other task as needed and flexibility is key.
Overtime required as needed.
Candidate skills & requirements
Have a sincere desire to work and be able to work independently or with a team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
3+ years relevant, steady work history is preferred, manufacturing a plus.
Forklift operation will be required. Training will be provided.
Good basic math skills.
Speak/read/write English proficiently.
Legible handwriting/printing.
Ability to balance multiple tasks/priorities.
Safran Cabin Materials requires a criminal background check and drug screen to be completed and passed for all positions.
This position is an ITAR governed position: **Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to qualify**.
