The Lead Accountant role will develop your skills and leadership through analysis of complex accounting topics, critical thinking, innovative use of technology, and guidance of other team members. The primary focus of this position is the preparation of monthly / quarterly internal financial reporting and preparation of our external SEC filings, specifically responsible for the MD&A; working closely with Senior Executive Leadership and Investor Relations to ensure optimal reporting to analysts and investors. This role requires an energetic individual who proactively identifies and implements process and technology improvements, and has a passion for accounting, and learning about the wireless business and wireless technology.
- Resolves a wide range of accounting issues in innovative ways
- Analyzes financial reports and records, making both accounting and operational improvement recommendations
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications
- Manages workload effectively and efficiently by prioritizing responsibilities
- Supports external and internal audit requests and helps to ensure team’s compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements for assigned areas
- Reviews, researches and recommends improvements to analysis, reporting, and systems
- Responds to financial inquiries of operational management providing requested information for management of the business
- Coordinates accounting or reporting matters with other departments or functions throughout the organization
- Provides functional advice or training to less-experienced associates
Responsibility and Decision Making
Within acceptable accounting practices, Senior Accountants demonstrate sound judgment in developing solutions to apply to their areas. Assignments are often broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity to complete. Senior accountants must have the ability to work well independently and formulate recommendations for solutions
Salary Range $70000 – $113751 / yearly

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of broad accounting experience, public accounting experience preferred, Big Four a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Proven technical accounting research and understanding of current accounting issues
- Experience working with or within a public company with SEC reporting and SOX control requirements preferred
- Strong PC literacy skills in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access and Word)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of leadership
- Normal office working environment
- Cyclical, sometimes unplanned overtime required
- Light travel
