What you will be working on:
Lead Accountant & Sr. Accountant
General Ledger
- Complete month-end close procedures for select account reconciliations, including corporate assets and liabilities.
- Responsible for the preparation of the monthly straight-line rent analysis, including cross-collaboration with other departments, as necessary.
- Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly impairment analysis for the held-for-investment property portfolio; lead liaison with senior leadership in asset management, legal, accounting, and corporate finance departments to ensure impairment assumptions, calculations, and conclusions are appropriate.
- Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly held-for-sale property analysis, including collaboration with legal and real estate accounting departments.
- Assist with the accounting analysis, review of legal agreements, and calculations of distributions for the Company’s joint venture relationships.
Financial Reporting
- Involvement in the accumulation of data and preparation of schedules that support SEC financial reporting financials and footnotes.
- Preparation of applicable reports for quarterly financial statements, as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform fluctuation and variance analysis on select corporate asset, liability and expense accounts.
- Consistently review current processes for improvement.
- Perform ad-hoc projects, as necessary.

Lead Accountant
Impairment & Held-for-sale
- Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly impairment analysis for the held-for-investment property portfolio; lead liaison with senior leadership in asset management, legal, accounting, and corporate finance departments to ensure impairment assumptions, calculations, and conclusions are appropriate.
- Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly held-for-sale property analysis, including collaboration with legal and real estate accounting departments.
Other Responsibilities
- Review and approve various account reconciliations and journal entries prepared by Accountants.
- Liaise with external and internal auditors to support the timely completion of audit requirements.
- Coach and mentor senior accountants and accountants.
- Perform ad-hoc projects, as necessary.
What is expected from you:
Basic Qualifications:
Lead Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of public accounting experience with an active CPA. OR 4+ years of public accounting experience with a CPA in progress. OR 5+ years of general accounting experience.
- Clear and thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Ability to handle complex and technical accounting situations.
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of financial statements.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
Sr. Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of public accounting experience. OR 3+ years of general accounting experience.
- Clear and thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Strong financial acumen and knowledge of financial statements.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate MS Excel skills.
What you will get in return:
Lead Accountant:
- The base salary for this role is in the range of $88,455 – $133,124.
Sr. Accountant:
- The base salary for this role is in the range of $78,554 – $107,970.
In addition, you may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package are determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
