Lead Banquet Set Up – Full Time (Lake Tahoe)

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

This full-time position enjoys a free meal each shift, free parking on and off shift, access to the employee gym and benefits eligibility at 90 days with an on-site clinic! Coordinates and acts as working Supervisor for set-up operations of the Special Events Center space of the Hotel. Works in conjunction with Sales, Banquets, Group Services, Food, Beverage and Stewarding Departments to ensure that facilities are adequately arranged for groups and special events.

$20/hr

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responds to the direction of the Group Services Department in the service of room set-ups and arrangements indicated by the prospectus for each event.
  • Ensures prompt set-up of Special Events Center rooms as scheduled and according to prospectus.
  • Coordinates with Food and Beverage departments, all needed equipment, etc. to provide maximum service.
  • Oversees tasks for assigned Banquet Set-Up personnel so that all functions are set up in the proper manner.
  • Maintains all Special Events Center equipment in an operable and efficient manner.
  • Oversees monthly inventory counts.
  • Quarterly, ensures that all Silver is polished and maintained.
  • Schedules Banquet Set-up staff to ensure efficient set-up process for events.
  • In coordination with the Stewarding Manager, oversees the monthly breakdown of kitchen for steam cleaning, making sure banquet supplies are removed from area to be cleaned.
  • Reports any needed repairs/refurbishment to the appropriate managing staff.
  • Makes recommendations to the Banquet Manager regarding hiring, promotion, demotion, termination and salary changes for Banquet Set-Up personnel.
  • Assists supervisor in guiding and instructing assigned personnel in the proper performance of their duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Six months previous banquet or convention experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Literate and fluent in English
  • Good computer skills
  • Must be able to read and understand a Special Events prospectus
  • Must know basic room layouts and capacities
  • Above average communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on Convention Center needs
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
  • Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same. Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift large objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull carts weighing 200+ lbs
  • Ability to grasp, hold, reach, bend, use a step stool, have hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours
  • Visual range must include near and far distances
  • Auditory range must include immediate environment
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas
  • Ability to frequently tolerate extreme indoor temperatures
