Description
Mission: The Mission of St. PJ’s Children’s Home is to be a safe and loving refuge for children in crisis and to accompany them on their journey to healing and wholeness, breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect one child at a time.
Summary:
Under the direction of the Program Director, the Lead Clinician is responsible for the coordination and implementation of mental health services provided to UAC, including the hiring, training, and supervision of clinical staff. The Lead Clinician is also responsible for conducting mental health assessments, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention. The Lead Clinician ensures that mental health services are provided in a manner that promotes best practices and facilitates the optimum delivery of quality trauma informed care to UAC.
Position Responsibilities:
- Actively participating in case staffings and stakeholder meetings and following up with recommendations;*
- Compiling, preparing, submitting and maintaining accurate records, files, forms, statistics and additional information in accordance with agency policy, DFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy;*
- Ensuring mental health services are completed within required timeframes and in accordance with agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy;*
- Reviewing and approving assessments and progress notes for UAC;
- Completing and submitting reports within required timeframes;
- Guiding and directing clinical staff and providing timely and adequate feedback;*
- Actively participating in the enhancement and/or improvement of the living and working environment for residents and employees;*
- Attending administrative staff meetings, staff retreats, and other team building activities as scheduled;
- Demonstrating proficiency in knowledge of agency policy, TDFPS Minimum Standards and ORR Policy;
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
o Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work plus at least two years of post-graduate direct service delivery experience; or
o Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in psychology, sociology or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical experience is a program requirement plus two years of post-graduate direct service delivery experience; or
o Bachelor Degree plus five years clinical employment experience in the behavioral sciences.
- Experience
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience required.
- License and Credentials
- State licensure to provide clinical services in Texas required;
- Reliable transportation;
- Valid driver license;
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel) and a variety of online database systems, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology;
- Strong analytical and organization skills and abilities;
- Must be able to read and interpret policy, procedures and standards;
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
• Must have good written and verbal skills;
• Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills;
• Must be able to remain calm and composed in crisis situations;
• Supervisory experience required;
• *Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language
