Job Description:
Responsible for overseeing and managing aspects of the company volunteer and giving platform, You Care/We Share, including reporting, volunteer and giving programs. Assist with donation process within company systems and approve payment requests. Manage reporting and processes for donations and volunteer events. Manage community brand recognition. Collaborate with team on volunteer events and initiatives and communicate volunteer opportunities. Liaise between Discover and our community partners and serve and represent Discover in our communities. Manage 606 and Riverwoods volunteer initiatives and logistics. Work with business unit leads, business unit work groups and ERGs to capture volunteer event information, provide event support and schedule training as needed. Serve as company spokesperson at community events. Assist with ad hoc projects as needed. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes. Actively manage and escalate risk and customer impacting issues to management.
Responsibilities
- Reporting for monthly donation and expense reports, assist with donation process and approval of donation requests through company platforms. Annual renewal of website certificates; assist with policy system management. Assist with ESG reporting.
- Subject matter expert for You Care We Share platform. Provide demographic reports to vendor, manage employee match requests, upload volunteer events and hours, manage program extensions like Missions, and assist with disaster relief efforts.
- Recruit employee volunteers to participate in volunteer events in Chicagoland and specifically at the 606 and Riverwoods. Assist with event logistics for business unit leads, business unit work groups and ERGs. Provide support for companywide and new hire volunteer events and initiatives.
- Approve logo use, brand recognition materials and submit ad requests.
- Identify opportunities to grow and/or showcase Discover’s commitment to the community through volunteerism and giving, build relationships with community non-profit partners; enhance the company’s reputation.
- Utilize internal channels to inspire employee engagement and recognize volunteers; create ways to motivate employees and offer new, flexible volunteer opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate relations, non-profit management, philanthropy, prior experience running corporate responsibility programs, event planning, managing corporate budgets, or related experience.
- In lieu of education, 7+ years of experience in corporate relations, non-profit management, philanthropy, prior experience running corporate responsibility programs, event planning, managing corporate budgets, or related experience.
Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $74,000.00 to $124,800.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
