Responsibilities
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert to support our Colorado Springs, CO. location.
- Provide subject matter expertise to assist and advise USASMDC G32 on technical planning, operational planning, and management of advanced capabilities, management of other highly technical personnel, and integration of emerging technologies in the missile defense (primary) and the space control electronic warfare (SCEW) (secondary, but background in both strongly preferred) mission areas.
- Perform systems engineering analysis, requirements decomposition, provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) review, analysis, and advice to impact design requirements for upgrades to current systems and for future systems, and if necessary guide development of hardware and/or software design.
- Able to support Government design trade off analysis, perform parametric analysis of different versions of a system component, conduct an analysis of alternatives, and recommend equipment and software to meet mission requirements.
- Provide operational and technical expertise on missile defense systems (primary) and SCEW (secondary but also desired), to include command and control, mission planning, and extended duration operations to advise and assist G32 efforts involving major Command projects.
- Perform high level staff work interfacing with SES and General Officers and their Staffs for the development and analysis of Program requirements.
- Assist and advise the Government with the requirements, design, development, Operational Security considerations, unconventional physical and mission protection measures, other life cycle planning and implementation of rapidly-emerging and complex special projects for present and future mission systems, programs, and requirements.
- Understand key program milestones and major decision points, and appreciate the significance of accomplishments and criteria (achievable, quantifiable, suitable, and effective). Understand schedule critical path, perform related analysis, and assist with developing alternatives in order to improve the timeliness and probabilities of success (e.g., develop alternate paths, define interim products, and increase concurrent development).
- Assist and advise G32 to facilitate and integrate the planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on various classified systems.
- Provide data and reporting formats for all types and levels of program reviews and prepares written and verbal reports to management regarding schedule variances Assist with the recurring program business rhythm (weekly and monthly), including schedule status, related analysis and chart preparation.
- Preferred if can understand the DoD requirements development processes and use that expertise to advise and recommend suitable, effective, and affordable program plans while working with program management, business management, contracts personnel, senior engineering/technical personnel, and other functional or support organizations and customer representatives.
- Preferred if can contribute to the continued improvement and implementation of new project planning and scheduling concepts, techniques, policies and procedures to meet Program Director and customer requirements to include rapidly emerging joint and service programs and requirements across multiple mission areas.
- Develop/execute special studies, analysis and products supporting the G32 mission area.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- 10 years of progressively complex experience in Project Management and/or Systems Engineering.
- Experience/Knowledge of Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Service staffs and components for the development and analysis of Program requirements
- Previous Air & Missile Defense with (THAAD, Aegis, Patriot, etc.) and/or Space Control Electronic Warfare (SCEW) experience, and G-Staff or other high-level staff experience.
- Experience with Special Access Programs, SCI, or other highly classified programs
- Travel: 20 %
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Top Secret with SCI clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree of science in engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university. Masters preferred.
Desired Skills:
- DoD Certified Acquisitions Professional in Project Management or Systems Engineering or PMP Certification
- Project Management experience (Missile Defense, Space, or Electronic Warfare preferred)
