Lead User Experience Researcher, Health & Wellness, Stealth Project
This is the opportunity to get in early with a stealth health & wellness project currently incubating in Walmart’s Store N o 8. At Store N o 8, the team will discover and deliver the insights that will power the future of healthcare for our customers, through the unparalleled scale of Walmart’s platform. In this role, you will lead the 0-to-1 development and launch of innovative products that sit at the intersection of Health & Wellness, Data Science, and Retail Experiences . You will work closely with the core Store N o 8 team, and our partners within Walmart Global Tech and the Walmart Health & Wellness business.

About the role:
As Lead User Experience Researcher , you will partner with a lean and high-powered team across product, data science & engineering, clinical informatics, and strategy to build technology-enabled products and user experiences that improve healthcare delivery, health-related decision making, and clinical outcomes for this high priority initiative inside of Store N o 8. Y ou will lead research activities that span across generative work (user discovery, development of customer models, archetype building) and evaluative work (usability studies, user testing, concept evaluation).
What you’ll do:
- Create and execute research roadmaps that align with and inform high-level business strategy and user experience goals
- Provide thought leadership to product and strategy teams in understanding customer needs, attitudes, and behaviors through your research; guide internal teams and partners to translate research insights into action
- Conduct user discovery, early-stage opportunity evaluation, and market analysis to inform value proposition, concept prototyping, and product development
- Contribute to team processes and resources to help establish best practices for research
Experience :
- 5+ years of user research experience, ideally building complex products with a Health, Data, and/or Retail component
- Strong working knowledge and extensive experience with both generative and evaluative research methods, and both qualitative and quantitative methods, and how to apply them in a fast-moving organization
- Deep k nowledge of the product design process and ability to collaborate with product and technical teams t o help transform complex problems into valuable products
- Ability to multi-task across different projects, working quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Relentless curiosity with the desire to understand the interconnectedness of users, decisions, and product interactions
- Superb communication and relationship skills
- Ability to operate independently in an ambiguous environment
- Success in an en trepreneurial environment, ideally within a fast-paced, high growth technology company
A plus if you also have:
- Degree in HCI, Design, or similar
- UI/prototyping experience
- A strong portfolio showcasing your UX research & design strategy
- Experience in the healthcare or wellness industry
- Experience in designing 0-to-1 products in startup or corporate incubation environments

The annual salary range for this position is $144,000.00-$216,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
– Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)
– Stock equity incentives
Minimum Qualifications…

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 4 years’ experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area.
