Enphase Energy, Inc. is seeking a Lead Employment Counsel to drive all legal global aspects of the employer-employee relationship, including employee privacy, wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour matters. The Lead Employment Counsel will report directly to the VP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communications skills and be highly productive while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing U.S. public company with global offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with our HR, Stock Admin, Finance, Payroll, and Sales teams on global employee relations matters (e.g., immigration law, workplace safety, data retention, privacy, and works councils)
  • Provide advice and counsel on labor law, including but not limited to restructuring, hiring, disciplinary issues, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, claims of discrimination, wage & hour disputes, noncompete and non-solicitation agreements, arbitration, reasonable accommodations, and other employment related issues
  • Draft and maintain corporate policies and procedures, employment contracts and other employment agreements, including separation and termination notices
  • Support M&A activities to ensure legal requirements are met in the transaction, including due diligence and employee transition and integration matters
  • Guide expansion efforts into our emerging markets in partnership with HR and the finance teams
  • Create and conduct legal employee related trainings
  • Ownership of US required government filings
  • Advise on annual employee review cycle processes

Qualifications:

  • JD from an accredited U.S. law school
  • 12+ years of in-house labor and employment experience with a public company or equivalent experience
  • Multi-jurisdictional US and international employment experience is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess interpersonal savvy and instills trust from clients
  • Acts with the highest integrity
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong business acumen and results driven
  • Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Capability and experience to work independently and as part of a team
  • Licensed in California or other state in the US

Salary Scale (CA): $200,000 to $260,000 per year depending upon experience
