The Lead Engineer performs complex work related to supervising the operation, maintenance, and adjustments of mechanical installations and equipment, and repair and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and coordinate all physical plant maintenance services and repairs.
- Repair and maintain all physical plants and mechanical equipment.
- Implement all maintenance and general procurement of materials and parts.
- Assist in the development of departmental budget.
- Assist in handling all emergencies to ensure responsible backup.
- Schedule, plan, and track equipment preventative maintenance.
- Supervises or directs others by determining or in interpreting work procedures, and assigning specific duties.
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required
- Requires 7 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Must be proficient in a variety of building/maintenance trades.
Education and/or Other Requirements:
- Requires completion of a high school program or GED.
- Requires a current Stationary Engineer’s License.
- Requires an EPA section 608 Universal technician certification.
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements:
- Perform medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing, and raising objects.
- Be able to exert between 20-50 pounds on a regular basis and 50-100 pounds on an occasional basis.
