The Lead Full Stack Engineer leads various accelerated digital transformation initiatives for Humana with heavy focus around customer engagement, AI driven personalization, and building customer insights across each touchpoint in the Customer Journey. The Lead Full Stack Engineer is responsible for design and engineering activities in all layers of the stack, including data orchestration, back-end APIs, micro-frontends, DevSecOps and cloud infrastructure. The Lead Full Stack Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

  • Implement contemporary omni-channel architectures capable of meeting a continuously changing industry and market environment to support Humana’s strategic goals.
  • Responsible for implementing solutions across mobile, web, marketing, CRM, and Voice channels and lead intelligently orchestrating contextually relevant experiences across complex customer journeys.
  • Standardize the automated quality assurance procedure for software leveraging Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies. Research complaints and make necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues.
  • Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, exercises independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
  • Work with Product Management along with Solution and Enterprise Architects indesigning our digital experiences.
  • Guide less experienced developers into becoming experts in software much like yourself. You will help bring requests and designs to life, make improvements to the development life cycle, and make daily opportunities more efficient than they were last left.

Required Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior/lead developer in large IT projects
  • 5 or more years of Full-Stack development experience leveraging Typescript, VueJS (or ReactJS) for Front-End, and NodeJSor Java (Sprintboot / Webflux) for Back-End
  • 3 or more years of experience with cloud technologies (Kubernetes with Azure preferred), DevSecOps and Monitoring
  • 3 or more years of implementing testing frameworks and tools including Cypress for end-to-end testing, Junit for unit testing and Cucumber for BDD
  • 3 or more years of experience with agile teams and Scrum
  • Experience with UI & UX design and prototypes
  • Prior project architect and/or technical team lead experience.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Certifications in any of the major cloud platforms (Azure or GCP preferred)
  • Experience in Event Streaming technologies
  • Advanced understanding of web modular design patterns
  • Advance experience in building software with Cloud native technologies

This is a remote position.

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate. Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$126,800 – $174,500 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
