Description

Purpose: (General description and summary)

The Lead Residential Support Specialist works closely with the Daily Operations Manager to manage day-to-day facility operations. The Lead RSS is responsible for supporting a culture of respect and unconditional positive regard for residents, and modeling engagement in Team Based Care. The Lead RSS is a resource for Residential Support Specialists (RSS), actively engaging in staff and team development of skills, competencies, and ensuring resident care is delivered in alignment with the Agency Mission and Vision.

Accountabilities: (Responsibilities of the job)

Resident Support

  • Actively engage with residents to support movement towards goals and transition planning.
  • Actively participate in team based care, including collaboration and coordinating multidisciplinary meetings as delegated by Daily Operations Manager
  • Assist in crisis intervention by coaching program employees, answering crisis calls and contacting appropriate service and support team members.
  • Adheres to and monitors medication management protocol. Works in conjunction with the Facility Administrator to conduct weekly medication audits.
  • Liaise with pharmacy, prescribers, physicians, neighbors, county and state officials.
  • Collaborate with resident’s treatment team and support system, as appropriate and in tandem with Daily Operations Manager.
  • Ensure residents are receiving highest quality care.
  • Coordinate shift schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Be available for after-hours telephone calls for consultation and coverage needs. Provide emergency shift coverage when coverage is otherwise unavailable.
  • Rotates on-call phone with Daily Operations Manager and Clinical Manager

General Facility Management

  • Responsible for facility cleanliness, health and sanitation. Ensures completion of shift duty checklists.
  • Monitor household/grounds for cleanliness and ensure safe environment. Submit work orders as needed.
  • Works in conjunction with Daily Operations Manager to ensure completion of monthly fire drills. .
  • Ensure adequate program supplies and general supply ordering,

Staff Support and Training

  • Model and coach residential staff in development of skills including engagement and de-escalation techniques, maintain a culture of unconditional positive regard toward residents.
  • Work in tandem with the Daily Operations Manager to provide onboarding and training for new RSS staff.

Work in partnership with Daily Operations Manager to facilitate and plan monthly staff meetings.

Other General Expectations:

  • Attends and positively participate in required meetings
  • Complies with all Oregon Administrative Rules pertaining to the operation of a residential program
  • Participates in training and development opportunities
  • Follows all agency policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Maintains current Oregon or Washington Drivers License
  • Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintains security of all corporate interests (security of keys, files, and facilities).
  • Must have a criminal records clearance through the State Mental Health Division.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

QMHA credentials strongly preferred.

Experience/Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a residential setting required.
