Lead Service Technician (Twin Falls, Idaho)

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Supervise and assign daily tasks of assigned Full-time and Part-time technicians.
• Ensures that all safety and GMP requirements are followed by the service team.
• Create, update, and provide service training for industrial process equipment to customers and technicians.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and Department Manager to plan, schedule, and execute service activities.
• Supervise the assigned service team to execute assigned projects to satisfaction at customers locations.
• Create timely service reports to customers once projects are completed.
• Professionally coordinate and communicate with customers and employees during unforeseen timing, unexpected equipment interruptions, and job rescheduling as necessary.
• Review of current service processes and suggestions of best practices or service improvements are communicated.
• Plant and equipment assessment lead for collection of project needs, time and people estimates, and quotation involvement provided to Project Manager.
• Goal planning, employee reviews, and execution of progressing your reportees knowledge and the further development of the department and services provided.
• Assist to implement, develop, implement, monitor, and execute our predictive maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant equipment. Solve issues related to mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems.
• Provide emergency repairs.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Keep records of repairs and develop or make necessary changes to planned maintenance schedules.
• Identify and follow piping lines both in plants and on P&ID drawings.
• Assist plant personnel as needed.
• Maintain a professional working image and communication as you are a representative of Nelson-Jameson.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
• Education: High school degree or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanics, repair, and preventative maintenance principles.
• Understanding of pumps, valves, homogenizers, conveyor systems, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic systems, basic electrical principles, and equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Experience: 3+ years as a sanitary maintenance supervisor/mechanic in the food or beverage industry.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable drivers record.
• Be willing to travel to locations of work as needed.

Preferred Education and Experience:
• An understanding of dairy and/or pharmaceutical standards and equipment.
• 2+ years experience in supervising service technicians.
• Instrumentation and programmable logic controllers (PLC) knowledge.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving equipment, dust particles, ladders, hazardous chemicals, in some cases wet environments with caution needed for slight risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The working surface can be variable type surfaces wet or dry.

Work Week:

Hours: 42-45 Days: Monday-Friday Weekends: As required

Travel via airplane or other vehicles to assigned service projects may be required. Service projects may require overnight, multiple day hotel stays. Interstate travel may be required.
