Your Impact

Join the dynamic and innovative Prisma Cloud Technical Documentation team, and play a vital role in enhancing our product experience. As a specialized technical writer focusing on API documentation, you will work closely with our product managers and engineering team to facilitate the seamless onboarding and security of cloud applications for both novice and experienced customers with quick, automated methods.

Your involvement will span all stages of the release life cycle, from conception to development, release, and post-release activities. You will take charge of documenting and promoting the features and capabilities of our Prisma Cloud platform. Your dedication to producing detailed and compelling content will directly contribute to increased API adoption and fewer support calls.

Your Impact

  • Enhance API reference documentation by providing relevant sample code – This will involve documenting API endpoint descriptions, responses, requests, query parameters, and data models
  • Deliver high-quality content within tight schedules, aligning with frequent product releases
  • Represent the customer perspective by providing feedback to development teams about the API and OpenAPI specifications
  • Collaborate closely with Developer Relations and Customer Success teams to ensure the API documentation offers a delightful experience for our valued customers
  • Partner with other stakeholders to understand the end-to-end workflow, setting up, configuring, and deploying the product and new features
  • Take ownership of the authoring and publishing processes, ensuring content accessibility for our users

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Extensive experience documenting technical content for a developer audience, with a focus on REST APIs
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, and at least 3 years documenting REST API
  • Ability to test API calls (e.g. with tools like Postman, CURL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with OpenAPI 3.0 and Swagger 2.0 specification formats
  • Comfort with Linux/MAC terminal and command-line tools
  • Ability to read and understand code in several programming languages
  • Proficient with source control (GitHub, GitLab)
  • Experience with bug tracking/collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence)
  • Proficiency in Markdown
  • Ability to tweak and write automation scripts(Python/Bash/jq)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure
  • A hands-on approach to understanding the technology and products being documented, with a keen ability to learn new technologies quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive, promote, and improve cross-team processes by collaborating effectively with our customers and internal teams

The Prisma Cloud Technical Documentation Team is responsible for enabling a content experience that helps our customers adopt the security capabilities and protect their cloud estate from risks and breaches. You will engage with a passionate team of content creators, product managers and UXers to develop and deliver the content that helps customers operationalize each stage of their journey. Your work will drive actions and help our customers make the most of their investment in Prisma Cloud, the best-in-class cloud native application security platform.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $114,800/yr to $185,800/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
