The WW APB Marketing Organization is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead Visual Designer to lead brand and packaging design work across Consumable Private Brands, reporting to a Creative Director. This role is part of a global creative team composed of designers, productions designers, copywriters, and design program managers that combine talent, expertise, and customer obsession to create compelling and memorable brands for products that customers love and prefer. They will lead creative concepting and execution of consumables packaging work end-to-end. As part of their role, they will focus on efficiency, scale, and quality of our work to enhance customer experiences and deliver exceptional results. The Lead Visual Designer works independently, managing competing priorities, and collaborates with the creative directors, designers, and marketing & business partners.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead design activities (concept development, layout development, and templatization) across multiple consumables brands/programs to enable concept design and design adaption for both print and digital design
• Oversees day-to-day relationships with Consumable Private Brands teams, supporting the strategic development of net-new product launches
• Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guidelines, across multiple categories
• Works with external party and third-party collaborators, to further adaption design work for externally produced artwork for packaging, imaging, and detail pages
• Drive packaging design and imaging improvements based on data and insights for the consumables business teams
• Perform shared tasks and activities as needed to ensure creative team efficiency, including management of assets (font/stock imagery, design tools and resources) and technical troubleshooting
• Mentor and guide designers within the print and digital design development processes
• Build team knowledge of benchmarked design practices and trends in multiple facets of design

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 6+ years of design experience
– Have an available online portfolio
– Experience partnering with technical partners for design implementation
– Bachelor’s degree in Design or a related field
– Strong proficiency in design/presentation/systems and tools (specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma)
– Fluency with print production and digital production design
– Detailed, hands-on experience with typography and image standards for web
– Excellent verbal and written skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Knowledge of typographic and brand design principles
– A self-starter with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations and thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment
– Demonstrated business acumen and customer-centricity
– Expertise in art direction, photo briefing, and on- and off-figure photography
– Ability to problem-solve, support and collaborate with other team members effectively
– Agility for time management and prioritization
– Strong organizational skills, especially as relate to file structure/creation and versioning or archiving
– Understanding of goals and goal development (marketing or business)
– Ability to cross collaborates to build design ecosystems that are customer-obsessed
– Superior attention to detail

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
