Job Description

PSE IT data team is seeking an experienced data engineer with ETL experience in BW/HANA/AWS to be part of our ongoing journey building a platform of insights and data lake solutions. This is a great opportunity for you to show off your creative data skills and work on different ETL methods (real-time/near real time and batch processing).

Job Responsibilities

  • Carries out detailed system design for ETL and reporting needs in HANA, BW or AWS.
  • Writes functional and technical requirements, develops test plans and applies testing, and quality monitoring procedures.
  • Leads coordination, facilitating interactive analysis and design sessions with representatives of business line and functional units.
  • Writes stored procedures in HANA and performs data modeling, imports & exports code between different environments.
  • Provides day-to-day support to users and to lower-level developers. Continuously contributes to maintain and optimize the overall ETL (BW, BODS, HANA, and AWS) and report (BOBJ, PowerBI) execution times.
  • Works with security teams to setup roles and authorizations, creates user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation.
  • Proactively contributes to the overall IT strategy via direct experience in tactical projects and specific user requirements.
  • Performs daily monitoring, troubleshooting to analyze complex problems to resolve technical issues.
  • Mentors other team members as needed.
  • Establishes and manages moderate sized project plans.
  • Acts as a champion in data technologies applying the standards, performing code, design and standard reviews for others within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two year degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education, work experience or relevant military experience, and at least 4 years of experience in related field.
  • 5+ years IT experience, including several years of systems development experience in the design and development of department-wide or enterprise-wide applications.
  • Detailed understanding and 5+ years programming languages (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) and strong knowledge of office applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Possesses full technical knowledge of phases of software development life cycle.
  • Experience with at least two full life cycle implementations of a new application or purchased application.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple languages, i.e (specialized technical requirements as shown in attachment) environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Knowledge of systems and/or business analysis design concepts. Demonstrated proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL).
  • Ability to facilitate interactive design and functional specification sessions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Excellent technical writing and system documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills for moderate sized projects.
  • Must be a “team player” able to work with management in developing and implementing new processes and enabling systems. Able to work with end user groups to define application needs and identify feasible solutions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated with the ability to motivate others and a customer-focused service attitude.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to meet objectives and effectively multi-task.
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of experience working on ETL and reporting tools in SAP (BW/HANA) or AWS.
  • Understanding of SAP BW Extractors functionality with ABAP Debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience or Knowledge on BW/4 HANA.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP HANA data modelling views (Attribute, Analytics and Calculation views) and stored procedures to perform ETL
  • Experience or knowledge handling ETL in big data technologies like AWS.
  • Working experience in writing and analyzing python code.
  • Experience or knowledge in SAP BODS and AWS products like redshift, Athena etc.
  • Knowledge of visualization tools like BOBJ and POWER BI.

The pay range for this position is $92,900.00 – $163,600.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
