LEAN LEAD

Summary:

Tasked with assisting project foreman in ensuring work is put in place in the most efficient and effective manner to maximize profit, meet schedule, deliver the highest quality, and keep our employees safe on the jobsite. The position requires administrative skills and an introductory knowledge of Lean principles such as Culture, 5-S, Visual Management, Standard Work, Problem Solving, Just-In-Time, and Quality Process.

To be a successful Lean Lead, you will need to be able to work early hours (often a 6am start time), bi-lingual in Spanish/English preferred, be organized under chaotic conditions, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), basic understanding of Smartsheet, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. You will also need to be able to work in a field construction environment with uneven terrain, safety hazards, constantly changing schedule, under various weather conditions. Job locations will change as projects are completed so work travel will vary based on location.

Responsibilities:

    • Documenting weekly work plans for each crew member as dictated by the jobsite foreman
    • Tracking and receiving material/consumables/equipment as ordered by the foreman
    • Maintaining, monitoring, and documenting work hours for each employee on the jobsite
    • Attending and participating in stakeholder meetings
    • Facilitating meetings where appropriate and distributing minutes to all project team members
    • Onboarding all crew members on a jobsite
    • Conducting daily walks to ensure crew members are set up to hit production goals and reporting back to foreman for analysis
    • Developing systems to ensure consumables, tools, and equipment are always on hand to allow crew to be efficient and effective
    • Ensuring systems are in place to keep jobsite trailer clean and organized

Requirements:

  1. Three years’ experience in related field
  2. Fundamental knowledge of Lean construction tools such as weekly work plans, Last Planner System®, constraint logs, waste walks, Kanban systems, A-3, 8 wastes, and daily huddles.
  3. Ability to work effectively both independently and part of a team
  4. Initiative to solve problems on your own to better help project success
  5. Ability to work under stressful and changing conditions
  6. Ability to follow process with strict discipline and teach processes to others
  7. Strong speaking skills and confidence to coach others on Lean topics
