Job Summary: This position serves as a designated custodian of public records as defined in Idaho Public Records Act. The individual in this position is responsible for receiving and responding to public records and legal requests, including constituent communications, research; and related tracking and reporting. This position is responsible for records and communications related to issues of a sensitive and confidential nature, and requires timely response according to state law.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in paralegal, legal studies, communications, business administration or a related field required. Four years of full-time equivalent experience in public or legal records management or related field required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and statutes, including public records law and other reporting requirements
- Ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; compile data and information for reports; compose letters and memoranda; explain policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong time management, administrative and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and maintain records
- Ability to gather and analyze research data such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes and documents
- Excellent customer service
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations
- Proficient skills in the use of personal computers and applications, including MS Office
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, scanner, and copier
