POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Alutiiq Career Ventures, (ACV) is looking for an experienced and self-motivated Librarian to join our team. The Librarian will perform a range of duties such as cataloging library resources, and maintaining library records.
The Librarian II will support the NASA Communications Services contract. For this position, you will have to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, as a great part of your job will involve interacting with the customers. The ideal candidate should also possess in-depth knowledge of library database systems, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks.
- Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager.
- In addition to Librarian I responsibilities/duties:
- Responsible for assisting with organizing library data sets to make materials and resources accessible for library patrons and researchers.
- Responsible for assisting library archives team with organizing and preserving materials
- Responsible for generating routine and/or ad-hoc reports for OCOMM management/OCOMM customers
- Duties may include directly interfacing with OCOMM management and/or OCOMM customers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in library science, information science or other appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university;
- Five (5) years of relevant experience; and
- Proficient in:
- advanced oral and written communications;
- advanced writing and editing; and
- advanced problem solving
