Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services and in accordance with state agency policies and procedures, the Licensed Family Therapist is responsible for providing therapy to a caseload of families, siblings, and couples that are sorting out the stressors of a loved one with developmental disabilities via telehealth or in person at Helping Hand’s beautiful offices. Opportunity to work with children and adults with developmental disabilities as well.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides individual and/or family counseling to children and adults.
- Depending on clinical specialty, may provide marriage and family counseling to parents of children with disabilities, siblings of individuals with disabilities, or children/adult with DD.
- Leads support groups for parents of children with disabilities.
- Provides training and support to families and staff.
- Maintains appropriate documentation for each counseling session.
- Facilitates the setting of measurable outcomes with and on behalf of individuals requiring supports to facilitate the fulfillment of their individual dreams, hopes, and desires
Qualifications
STANDARD JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid knowledge and passion for serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team with OTs, SLPs, BCBAs, and mental health professionals.
- Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
- A commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have one of the following clinical licenses: LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT.
- Passion for serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Desire to advance Helping Hand’s mission by transforming lives of those with developmental disabilities.
- Comfortable using various computer software to stay connected (i.e., Outlook, Zoom, Teams).
- Basic computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ongoing motor vehicle insurance. Ability to pass PACE certification requirements (preferred).
