MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must meet the requirements below to qualify for this title.
Current permanent status as a Licensed Master Social Worker 2 and qualified for lateral transfer ~OR~ Eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
For permanent, non-competitive appointment under the Civil Service Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program, candidate must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is not considered qualifying. ** Professional social work experience involves activities such as screening, assessing and diagnosing individuals’ and families’ psychosocial needs, strengths and limitations; participating in the development of treatment plans and discharge plans; counseling and educating individuals, groups and families to promote mental, emotional, physical and social functioning; helping access needed services; providing client/patient advocacy and crisis intervention; and developing, coordinating and evaluating services and support systems. Experience limited to social work research or social work administration is NOT considered qualifying.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• The Licensed Master Social Worker 2 (LMSW 2) will provide clinical support, oversight, training, and guidance on best practices for the 35
Habilitation Specialist 1s and 45 Habilitation Specialist 2s throughout the agency.
• The LMSW 2 will assist Habilitation Specialists with caseload transitions.
• The LMSW 2 will also cover Habilitation Specialist’s caseloads as needed.
• The LMSW 2 will additionally work with all Habilitation Specialists on the Staff Action Plans and monthly notes ensuring the documents meet
all billing criteria.
• The LMSW 2 will assist the Habilitation Specialists with submitting documents for quarterly Medicaid Compliance audits.
• The LMSW 2 will be the liaison with the agency Quality Improvement Department. The LMSW 2 will be directly supervised by the Deputy Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel may be required for meetings and presentations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of TABS (Tracking and Billing System), CHOICES, Excel, SharePoint, and other computer skills are valuable assets for this
position.
• Valid NYS Drivers’ License.
