Love Pop Culture? Hot Topic is looking for a Licensing Manager to drive new and exciting projects. We are seeking someone with a strong knowledge of licensing and project management skills. In this fun entrepreneurial position, the Licensing Manager will diplomatically interface externally with licensors and consumers and internally with Hot Topic marketing, merchants, sourcing, and operations to drive specific projects forward.
Pay range is $80,000-$90,000
Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but other factors such as an individual’s education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training and experience, will determine the final salary for potential new hires.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage and drive stand-alone licensing projects, serving as the licensing leader and main point of contact for various aspects of those projects, including but not limited to POD, Digital Ventures, and Design Challenge programs, forecasting and royalties
- Cultivate licensor relationships and initiate, negotiate, and implement Print-On-Demand, Digital Ventures, Design Challenges and any other programs as requested under the Licensing Strategy and Partnerships Vice President
- Oversee project management and maintain strong relationships with POD Operations team and Creative team while being the conduit and force behind status of contracts, product development approvals, and launches – ensuring they are executed in a timely manner
- Develop ongoing strategies and collaborate with department managers to execute them while actively working to improve overall processes
- Communicate with HT Marketing and licensors to coordinate and execute all marketing needs
- Collaborate with HT, BL, and HU buyers to encourage retail buys and promote graduation into stores
- Work with Licensing Coordinators and Associates to ensure timely approvals and accurate tracking to prevent negative audit findings
- Effectively report Licensing updates and progress to Licensing Strategy and Partnerships VP to help ensure programs run smoothly and effectively.
- This role will have multiple direct reports
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Must have knowledge of pop culture and licensed merchandise
- Excellent interpersonal skills required. Must be able to interact with multiple functional areas, including, but not limited to: licensors, consumers, merchants, marketing, E-commerce and Legal teams
- Must have proven leadership and organizational skills and the ability to follow multiple aspects of a project at once
- 5-7 years of experience in licensing or pop culture retail requested
- 4-year college degree preferred
