General Statement of Duties
This particular job posting is an “Open Pool” position. There may or may not be available openings at this time however, when an opening does occur, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants we have on file on an as needed basis.
It is the ultimate responsibility of the lifeguard to ensure the safety of the patrons in and around the pool area through proper enforcement of all aquatics based rules and regulations as well as through constant supervision of the swimming area and its surroundings.It is the ultimate responsibility of the lifeguard to ensure the safety of the patrons in and around the pool area through proper enforcement of all aquatics based rules and regulations as well as through constant supervision of the swimming area and its surroundings.
Responsibilities: (Not intended to be an exhaustive list)
- Ensure the safety of all individuals in and around the pool area;
- Enforce all facility/aquatics policies, rules and regulations;
- Practice preventative lifeguarding;
- Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies;
- Inspect the facility on a daily basis;
- Properly complete required pool records and reports in a timely fashion;
- Participate at in-service training;
- Other duties as deemed by supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess and maintain at all times while employed at Mount Fitness current certification of the following:
- Lifeguard training from a MA state approved agency. (examples: American Red Cross, YMCA, BSA Starguard);
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer;
- Standard First Aid;
- Be at least 16 years of age in compliance with the MA State Bathing Code 105 CMR 435.23.

Additional Information:
Salary: $15.00 per hour.
Hours per Week: Up to 18 hours per week.
